Volunteering for the Southern Arizona Law Enforcement Foundation (SALEF) is fun and rewarding! In the 20 years SALEF has been in existence, hundreds of supportive and generous individuals and businesses have donated their time and expertise toward Foundation programs and events. Without our amazing volunteers, we would not be able to provide the events and programs that generate the crucial funds needed to support and help protect our local law enforcement officers.

The Southern Arizona Law Enforcement Foundation conducts several fundraising events each year. Volunteer assistance is always needed. You can sit on an event planning committee or assist on event days.

Some of our volunteer opportunities include:

Golf Tournament

SALEF began presenting golf tournaments in 2015. Our annual tournament popularity has grown and is now one of SALEF's bigger fundraising community events! In 2024, the tournament took place in May at Arizona National Golf Club. Volunteer assistance is always needed during the week leading up to the event and during the event. Some are also needed for various tasks following the event.

Unsung Heroes Awards Celebration

Each year since 2004, SALEF has recognized our local police for their dedicated work, and for giving their heart and soul within the community—above and beyond their regular call of duty. The awards celebration normally takes place in January, though we missed a few years and adjusting things slightly for Covid. Our 17th celebration took place in August of 2023 at the Westward Look Resort. Volunteers are always needed to assist with event set up, guest check-in, and tear down / clean up following the event.

7 Badges Poker Run

Our first-ever poker run took place in 2019. During Covid we actually presented two poker runs each year. In 2023 our poker run took place in October. Volunteer assistance is always and definitely needed to set up and tear down twice during this event. It's an outdoor event, so you’d be on your feet, and some lifting/carrying is involved. It's a ton of fun!

Cops & Rodders Car Show

In 2024, Cops & Rodders will take place Saturday, November 2nd, at Pima College - West Campus. While this is a one-day event, set-up takes place all day long on the day prior, and then of course the entire day/evening on the day of the event. There are myriad areas that always need volunteer assistance. This event and all volunteer tasks will be outdoors.
